Camera Website?
Hello!
I love to take pictures when I travel and have finally decided to get out of the dark ages and purchase a digital camera. Does anyone know of a website that offers good prices/discounts on digital cameras?
(I know this doesn't seem travel related, but pictures are such an important part of traveling.)

When I bought my 2nd digital camera last year, I used several different comparison shopping websites, including shopping.com, yahoo.com(then click on "shopping" in the topics section), mysimon.com, and bizrate.com. I like shopping.com because when you plug in your zip code, it will give you the total price, including tax and shipping, from each store. I have found that this is the best way to purchase and get the best price once you know what you are looking for. If you're not sure which camera to buy, check Consumer Reports or epinions.com. There are probably many other consumer electronics feedback websites, but this is a start. Good luck with your search and purchase - you'll love going digital!

I just bought a digital camera. Used these sites to compare:
http://www.imaging-resource.com/
http://www.consumersearch.com/
(this site has everything)

Another good site for comparing prices once you've chosen a model is www.epinions.com. I also use www.pricegrabber.com and www.pricewatch.com
For choosing a model, I think
www.dcresource.com and
www.steves-digicams.com
are the best - full of info and easy to navigate. The second site has a feature where, at least for most cameras, you can get a full 360-degree view.
Not quite as user-friendly, but still informative is www.dpreview.com.
