Best Places to visit in Mississippi
My son and I will be spending a couple of days in Mississippi in October and we are wondering which part of Mississippi would be the best place to stay. We are really hoping to get on a Paddlewheeler Boat for an hr or so and also if possible visit a cotton plantation and any other suggestions will be very welcomed.

What does this mean?
Considering the state's history, "cotton plantation" could be a loaded term. There are still working cotton farms and there are old plantation homes. The latter are on the River. The Gulf Coast to the River (through Louisiana to the River Road north of Baton Rouge) and a bit north up to Natchez would be the best area to be a tourist.

Vicksburg and Natchez have a lot to offer. Really liked the battlefield National Park in Vicksburg in Natchez, Dunleith Historic Inn is listed as a National Historic Landmark and the only house in Mississippi that is completely encircled by a colossal colonnade. The home was constructed in 1856. Spent the night also enjoyed the restaurant.
