Arizona/Utah ideas
We would appreciate some ideas for a seven day trip we are planning in April. We have been to Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Canyonland and Arches, and we loved them all.
Can anyone suggest some great places that we may have missed in the southern Utah or northern Arizona area?
We would probably fly into either Las Vegas or Phoenix, and end up in Las Vegas for the last few days.

Lake Powell/Page area for Antelope Canyon (slot canyon). Not sure what the water levels are like now for boating.
Escalante NP (Hwy. 12)
Kodachrome Basin SP
Valley of Fire SP, Nevada
We're heading back the SW to fill in some gaps like you are and we have planned:
Coral Pink Sand Dunes SP
Wire Pass hike to Bulchskin Gulch around Paria
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary near Kanab

Thank you all for your ideas. What would be a logical route to follow given we would have 4 or 5 days before we end up in Las Vegas, and which city would you suggest we fly into, Las Vegas, Phoenix, other?
We have riden on Highway 12 from Bryce to Boulder, where we had to turn around because we were staying in Springdale.

mikec54321,
The route you take will depend on where you have decided to visit. If you want to see Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley, then you could save some 100 miles of driving by flying into Albuquerque.
Albuquerque to Canyon de Chelly is 230 miles via I-40, Hwy 491, Hwy 264 & Hwy 191 to Canyon de Chelly. I'd spend two nights so that you can take a guided tour. We really enjoyed the 1/2 day tour out of the Thunderbird Lodge...we wished we had taken the all day tour.
From Canyon de Chelly it's 133 miles to Monument Valley. Leave early and get to Monument Valley and do a tour. You can drive your car into the monument, but many people like the guided tours. Spend night in Kayenta, Goudlings or Mexican Hat.
From Monument Valley take Hwy 163, 160 & Hwy 89 to Page, AZ. It's 125 miles. If you want to do a 1/2 day float trip or all day boat tour to Rainbow Bridge National Monument then plan on spending 2 nights, other wise one night will be enough to see the Upper Antelope Slot Canyon and take the short 3/4 mile hike to Horseshoe Bend.
From Page, AZ it's 275 miles to Las Vegas. If you want to see some other sites, you can avoid Zion by taking Hwy's 389 & 59.
