Anyone with Seattle hotel recommendation?
On the 12th of January, myself and my 18 year old son will be visiting Seattle for our first time. Anyone have recommendations on where to stay, what to do. All would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Downtown area best location.
Check the following for 1/2 price specials;really good deals, also maps to check locations

No, I am not a travel agent.I have used this site for last 3 years Dec. thru March 31st.Their "regular" room rates are accurate and the" Seattle on Sale"rates
are reliable.You may have to check several hotels due to the limited time till your arrival.
Good Luck===Take umbrella or raincoat!!!

Our son really enjoyed the Edgewater. It is the only hotel we found on the water. A famous record album cover was taken there where band members were fishing out the window.There has been much remodeling since and it is a very nice place to stay with the history that makes it fun. It is also in a great place to sightsee.

Stayed at the Travelodge near the Space Needle in August of last year. The room was nice but, what I like most was its location. I was just two block from the Space Needle and Seattle Center, which includes the Experience Music Project. A must see if you like music. Also you can take the monorail for $1.00 each way to downtown and Westlake center. I had a rental while in Seattle but, rearely used it. If you would like more advise please e-mail me. Good luck and have fun.

Seattle is a great city. Is this a college-scouting trip, perhaps? We'll soon be making those choices ourselves.
We enjoyed the science-emporium whatever it was called where you could play virtual basketball. The Space Needle is a Seattle must-do, as is a Mariners' game. We got lucky and got Alex Rodriguez' signature, now preserved under glass (!) Seattle also has a nice modern art museum.
We stayed at the Inn at the Market, but would most likely not stay there again. Great location but too expensive, and with no real appeal for teens. (I loved it though, fabulous little restaurant.) But it was great to be so close to Pike Street Market and that little kitchen gadget store.
Thank you very much Kay for the seattleinsider site. With reductions like these, our family will get back to Seattle sooner rather than later, and explore different parts of the city. Mahalo!

Check out this website www.seattlesupersavers.com Half-price hotels from now until Mar. 31. Last spring we stayed at Cavanaugh's. Great location- walking distance to everything. Downtown is a wonderful place to stay IF you don't have a car. Parkling runs 15-25/per day.
We're going back in March and I think this time we'll stay close to Seattle Center and take the monorail into downtown to shop.
Have a great time! I live close to Seattle and go all the time, if you want more info, e-mail me.

Thank you, all, for all of your great ideas. We were thinking about staying near the Seattle Center at the Homewood Suites. For $89+tx inc/brkfast. Not bad. They shuttle you within a five mile radius, too. Any ideas on the fun, good food places and maybe a place to catch some live music. ?? Thanks again. John and Garrett
