Hello!
I am a 35 year old man traveling from Ohio, USA. I am looking into doing a solo trip in March for 10-12 days (including travel from USA). I have traveled a lot through USA, Europe and southeast Asia (over 45 countries now). I am considering the following locations and would like some advice on where would be best to go during this time of year.

- Columbia
- Peru
- Argentina/Patagonia (could also include Torres Del Paine if time)
- Morocco
- Jordan

I am interested in architecture, history, food, nature, and hiking (i do day hikes mostly). I am looking to spend around $1500 for the trip so that is partly why I am looking at lower cost destinations. This budget does not include the international flight since I have miles/points to get me there.
Thanks for your help!

You might take a look at weatherspark.com for its excellent climate data.
Have fun deciding!

From all your mentioned destinations I only know Patagonia. This is such a beautiful part of the world, but it really is not a budget destination.
Busses are cheap, but accommodation is expensive. I don't know the prices for tours, because we always are self-driving,

From your list, Morocco is the only place I’ve visited. I went there last year with my family, and it was an incredible experience. The architecture in Fes, Meknes ... and the food everywhere were unforgettable. And it’s super easy to do day hikes there too; check trails like the Mount Toubkal Trails or Akchour Trails. It’s also very affordable, so your budget is more than enough for 10–12 days. I’d totally recommend it, I’m sure you’ll love it.

Maybe I missed it, but depending on where you are leaving from... which of these trips has the longest flight and the largest time-change. 10-12 days (subtract two for going and returning) is not that long of a trip, so I'd definitely consider the flights and routing you can find between the (very different!) places you are considering. Also I think it works better to name cities, rather than entire countries, as far as expenses, transportation available, etc.

What it is that draws you to each of these places? Have you listed out what you would see and do in each different place? Checked costs for lodging? Obviously you are a highly experienced traveler with so many trips under your belt, so you likely know all this already suze

suze Sorry, it was a typo. I live in Columbus, Ohio so I am used to typing the u. My apologies.

And yes, I have done a fair amount of research and watched multiple videos on each place. I think I am struggling to decide because I want to travel to every place I listed! haha.

I have visited all of those places and for those South America locations, numerous times and for extended periods. Given your interests, I would suggest Peru or Colombia would meet your requirements the best. That said, both are huge countries with varied weather patterns so you would need to be quite focused on where you go. I imagine they would be a lot easier on the jet lag than Jordan or Morroco

Colombia should be in its dry season in March so great for getting around . I would suggest using Medellin or Bogota as a base city and moving out to two or three locations from there.

Peru will still be in its wet season for the Andes so the usual gringo trail of Lima, Cusco and the Sacred Valley will still be a bit wet (hough quieter and cheaper). Lima will see nice weather as will coastal places like Trujillo . Arequipa is usually nice as well (and has superb Spanish colonial architecture.

Lots of choices...
