Taxi fares for my options at the Falls (Argentina).

Hi:

I have a booked a hotel in Puerto Iguazu for one night and our plan is to check-out, see the falls on the Argentinian side and head over to Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport (IGR) to catch a flight to Buenos Aires. I will have seen the Brazilian side of the Falls the previous day. Since it's me, my wife and a 7-yr old kid, and with lots of luggage, buses is not an option. We have the following three options and would like to know the taxi fares for option 1 and option 2.

Option 1:
- Check out and leave luggage at hotel. Catch a taxi to the Falls (Argentinian side only).
- Catch a taxi back to the hotel and pick up the luggage.
- Catch the same taxi or a different one to take us to Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport (IGR).

Option 2:
- Check out from hotel. Catch a taxi and take luggage to the Falls (Argentinian side only).
- Continue with the same taxi to take us to Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport (IGR).

Option 3:
- Ask hotel to arrange Option 2. The hotel is quoting us ARG$350.

Please let me know the recent taxi fares.

Thanks,
D

I see you have asked the same question on TA with no luck, so far.

I don't know how much those taxi trips cost, but you need to understand that, if you change your dollars at the so-called "blue" rate, option 3 costs about 40 dollars, which doesn't seem too much.

Cash is king in Argentina. So, if you have the required pesos in hand, you should be able to negotiate a good rate.

Have a great time in our country.

Here my advice (applies to any country in the world or outside the world): option 1 is ok, option 3 as well. Option 2: never leave luggage in a taxi.
$350 sounds ok.

IGR Airport is near the falls, you can´t go back to your hotel and collect luggage!. Go for option 3. $350.- is reasonable, it is only USD42.- Naturally if you carry cash and change in the black market beforehand of course. My advice to you is bring USD cash and change in the black market. Use your card or pre-pay the less possible. May sound strange but will improve your budget consideably!
