Best Diving Spots in the Galapagos?

I just got back from a liveaboard diving trip in the Galapagos, and it was incredible—diving with sea lions, hammerhead sharks, and manta rays, then relaxing on deck under the stars. I went with Galapagos Sky, and their team made everything seamless, which really let me enjoy the adventure without stress.

For those who have been, what diving spots or experiences would you say are must-do in the Galapagos?

That sounds great—Galapagos Sky has a fantastic reputation! If you do return, be sure to dive at Darwin and Wolf Islands. It is relatively remote, but so worth going to see so many hammerheads, whale sharks (especially June–November), and playful dolphins! Gordon Rocks is a favorite too; there can be a strong current, but it is always full of marine life, rays, and turtles for sure. If you’re looking for something a little less overwhelming, then Cousins Rock near Santiago Island is a great location for macro photography—seahorses, frogfish, and nudibranchs are everywhere. Just be prepared for changing conditions; I’ve even seen experienced divers having trouble with Galapagos currents. Did you have the chance to see any whale sharks on your trip? That is still on my bucket list!

When you visit the Galapagos Islands, do not skip Darwin and Wolf Islands - with wild, huge schools of hammerheads and whale sharks if you travel mid-year. Another great spot nearby is Gordon Rocks near Santa Cruz for the strong currents and Galapagos sharks. The truth is that you cannot miss anywhere in the Galapagos Islands!
