Seeksocean Stays Home..but wants to try again...Argentina

Hi All, Well the other four in my group left yesterday for Buenos Aires and other great locals. I, unfortunately had to cancel due to a health issue. I always buy flight insurance, as between myself and my family, I seem to cancel about as many trips as I get to take. Flight insurance is a good thing...I highly recommend it!

So, now, I am hoping to go for two weeks in late April, into early May. Maybe not do Mendoza, but Buenos Aires, Iguazu and Colonia/Montevideo. I can use my miles for my husband and I, which is good. And, if I need to cancel again, it's a nominal fee.

What's the weather like that time of year? Truly, I am going for the experience and if there is a little rain, a little cold, that's okay. But, if it's not a very good time to be traveling there, please tell me.

I heard about the entry fee into Argentina through EZE. Kind of pricey, but if that's what we charge in the USA, then oh well.

Thanks!! Happy Holidays! -Seeks!

Well, I'm sorry about that, seeksocean!

Late April/early May is a great time to come to Argentina, unless you are planning to go South.

Maybe by that time the "reciprocity fee" has been dropped. Who knows?

Happy Holidays to you too!

Thank You! Hopefully my friends have been sleeping off their jet lag...and probably they are out and about right now. We have Skype, so they'll keep me as part of all this.

Glad to hear about okay weather that time of year April/early May. I am not planning to go south. Happy Holidays to you and yours as well Avrooster. And, thank you for always being 'there' with a warm heart and a positive word! -Seeks

Hola, seeksocean !
It is a pretty beautiful day here today, I hope your friends are enjoying the breeze and drier air and plentiful sunshine. The skies are an incredible blue again.

I am so sorry that your health issues spoiled things .. and I am so happy you will be able to try again ( this time it will be perfect.. you and your husband will feel fabulous )

We arrived to live in BA, on April 20th and thought the weather was just wonderful. The worst of the summer heat and humidity is over, the nights are nice and cool and you are much better able to sightsee and walk miles with the milder temps. There is a possibility of showers because it is Fall but I really love that time of year.

How would you break up two weeks, late April to almost mid May? I wouldn't need beaches. I thought about 5 days in BA, fly to Uguazu for 2 nights, back to BA and take the ferry to Colonia and bus to Montevideo, then fly back to BA for a night or two. Any better options or ideas? It's nice to at least arm chair travel again!

PS. The Lan flights ended up being an absolute NIGHTMARE! They switched us, seperated us and changed us onto different flights...some with 10 hour layovers on our within Argentina and Uruguay short flights. We went with Lan because we thought they were the best choice, but it took many many many hours to resolve their changes.

Hi S.B. I looked over old posts and we changed hotels due to $$, so maybe not the same hotel after all...or maybe you are there. I am on Tripadvisor by the same name. Please send me a PM over there.

Just thought I'd let you know that my friends entered Argentina (EZE) after the 20th and weren't charged the fee. They figured that the airport wasn't set up for it yet. Do you know anyone who has paid it yet?
