Transportation advise - Aeroparque Jorge Newbery to Palermo

Should I arrange transportation ahead or just take a taxi (or a remise) from Jorge Newbery airport to our B&B in Palermo. About how much should we expect to pay? Also in reverse from St. Telmo how much time should we allow for a flight out of AEP. Thanks in advance to all the helpful posters here!!!

It is only a short ride from our local airport to Palermo. As Palermo is a large area, it is difficult to estimate the cost, but it shouldn't be much.

I suggest using http://www.tiendaleon.com.ar/home/home.asp

You can reserve online with them and pay with your credit card, but any of the "remise" booths at the airport, where you can prepay your ride, are OK.

Whatever you do, DO NOT, repeat DO NOT take the taxis which are waiting outside the airport.

From San Telmo to AEP is a longer ride and it is difficult to estimate how much time you should allow, since it depends on the time of day. During the rush hour out of town, for instance, it could well take an hour. On the other hand, early on a Sunday morning, it could take ten minutes.

Be sure to have bills no larger than 20 pesos to pay cabs and avoid exchanging dollars at "Global Exchange".

Have a great time in our town.

Hello,

I would recommend you pre-book a shuttle service, saves you getting ripped off or having the hassle... if you do decide to get a taxi dont go to the first person who attempts to convince as the 2nd one will be cheaper and so on and so on! Also make sure you have some Argentinean pesos with you or their exchange rate will be a bit high!

Have fun!

It is difficult to get a taxi AEP. I suggest you prebook. Most accomodations will arrange to pick you up.

Thanks everyone, our B&B can send a car (a little higher price) so I will probably just do that. Thought we might just take a taxi to keep things simple as it is so close and everyone seems to recommends taxis to get around town.Anyway thanks again, John & Robin

I repeat, DO NOT take the taxis which are waiting in line outside the local airport.
