I'm thinking of going to South America over the holidays. It's between Peru or Argentina. Any recommendations for a female traveling solo?

Have to disagree again with qwovadis. Peru has the better cuisine, seafood/ceviche on the coast and "Nuevo Andino" around the Sacred Valley.

And culture? What does that mean? Peru has living Quechua and Aymara culture. Fantastic museums in Lima (Rafael Larco in particular).

Obviously I vote Peru.



I say Peru

A lot depends on your interests, how long you have and the time of year you are going to travel. Holidays might mean Christmas or it might mean your summer. Having said that, if you have the time to include Cusco and Machu Picchu in a trip to Perú, you will see things that are totally new to you and unlike anywhere else in the world. You will not be reminded of anywhere you have been before. I say Perú.
