Best food in cajun country?
We're planning a long weekend in Lafayette, Louisiana area. We love to find quaint places to eat with lots of atmosphere and great food. With GREAT food being the most important criteria. Any suggestions for Cajun food, Italian, or Mexican or anything else interesting in the Lafayette, Breaux Bridge, St Martinville, New Iberia, Rayne and Crowley area?

We almost moved to Rayne. There was nothing there of note. Around Abbeville I suggest BLACK'S OYSTER BAR
Abbeville, LA
It's been a local favorite for decades. Serving terrific seafood and other dishes in a rustic setting. 319 Pere Megret, across from the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. until Aug. 2, then Tues.-Th., 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Fri. & Sat., 10 a.m.-10 p.m. (318) 893-4266.
