Tour companies. Is there a rating site?

Is there a consumer site that rates the tour companies?
We have done research on escorted tours.
The brochures are all dazzling, but for that expense, we want to be assured that there won't be any surprises.
This is important because I'll be travelling with an elderly relative.
Any suggestions most appreciated.
;-)

win: so many here are well traveled. If you mentioned what tour companies (and to where..) I know someone here could help.

Are you looking at escorted European trips? Trafalgar? Cosmos?

Yes, it would help if you were a little more specific in tour companies you might be interested in and where you want to go.

Last May we went on a Northern Mexico -Copper Canyon tour with Grand Circle and had a wonderful time and met many great people on the tour and along the way. There were people in their early 60's to mid 80's on our tour. We got to see things and go places that I'm not sure we could have found on our own.

We liked them so much that we are taking another tour this summer to Nova Scotia with Grand Circle. Many on our tour had been to 4 and 5 with GC. Post if you want more info or email me: [email protected]

Get in touch with ASTA the travel agents association. Find out who they recommend.

If you have the city where the company is based, check the BBB in that location.

One thing I just thought of..if you do an international tour, check out the size of the bus. Sometimes the buses are large (too many people to enjoy the tour). Sometimes the bus is small. Check to see if the bus has a restroom on board (good to know for the elderly relative!)

Please let us know what tour company and we will help you.
