If we dont want to fly, whats the most convinient way to get from NYC to Philly (with luggage)? How much will a Limo cost approximately? Thanks

The most convenient/economical way is Amtrak from Penn Station (NYC) to 30th Street Station (Philly). I think they are skycaps at Penn Station to help you with the luggage. If you are trying to get from a NY airport to the Philadelphia airport, then you might want to consider renting a car and driving if you don't want to fly.

Sorry, I am not sure how much a limo will cost. If you are going from Manhattan (rather than a NYC airport), your best alternative is the Amtrak Acela Express. Trip takes 1hr 12mins and costs $142 1st class, $95 business class.

From Manhattan or EWR, you can easily take the Amtrak.
From JFK or LGA, the "most convenient" way would be an airport shuttle, or rent a car.

Having never used them (or any other limo service), I can't recommend them, but

does have limo service between Philadelphia and New York. Contact them to get a price. I'm sure you'll find it'll be more than a cab from anywhere in Manhattan to Grand Central, then Amtrak to Philadelphia. The latter will also will involve less time and traffic.

Paying for a limo ANYTIME is an expensive proposition. To use it to get from one city to another means you have a lot more money than most people who use this bulletin board.

The cost-effectiveness of a limo compared to bus or Amtrak depends partly on how many are traveling. For a group of 4, the private ride gets interesting. But there are cheaper Amtrak alternatives than the luxury-priced Acela.

Depending on the time of day, driving to Philly could take 4 hours door-to-door (if you hit bad traffic in both cities). Even with "normal" traffic, you're talking at least 2 hours.

Perhaps if there's 4-6 people a limo makes sense, but who takes a limo anywhere anymore?!?!

If by any chance you are going from/to a hotel, maybe the hotel will have some suggestions for a limo service?

limos are not that expensive. a 6 passenger is 235 from nyc to philly. PHLimosine.com has rates to lots of different airports. both my sisters live just outside philly and often fly from newark. good luck.

In addition to PHlimousine.com which lists a rate of $225 + tolls + 20% tip from Manhattan to Phil for a 6 passenger limousine. ($275 for an 8 passenger vehicle) I also found the following websites (I haven't checked) by doing a web search for

By the way, not sure what you mean by "flying is not the most convenient way in America... If you own your own plane then maybe !" I think it would be true anywhere that for a trip this short, a train city center to city center will always be faster than getting to/from an airport at both ends.

For those on a budget who do not care for the bus, I recommend taking New Jersey Transit from Penn Station New York to Trenton, switching to a SEPTA commuter train and taking that to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. This follows the same route as Amtrak, but at a fraction of the cost. The downside is that it does take about an hour longer.
