New Electric Canal Taxi Service Bangkok
Bangkok has just launched a new electric water taxi service, offering a quiet and eco-friendly way to navigate the historic city canals while bypassing road traffic. This is a nice new touristic attraction in the Thai capital.
The service operates primarily along Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem and Khlong Bang Lamphu, connecting 14 key piers including Hua Lamphong Railway Station (connecting to the MRT), Thewarat Market, Phra Sumen Fort, and areas near Khao San Road.
Rides are currently FREE until February 28, 2026. Starting in March 2026, regular fares will begin at approximately 60 Baht per person, with small group bookings also available.
The boats run daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (some reports indicate until 6:00 PM). Each electric boat can accommodate up to 6 to 8 passengers, moving at a comfortable speed of 12 km/h.
