Coastal Maine destination

Trying to choose a destination on Maine coast for family reunion in July this year.. Six adults and two children age 3 and 5.
Tidepooling would be fun. Would like waterfront and close to variety of restaurants, shops etc.
Apprrciate any suggested destinations.

Camden is good as is Ogunquit or Boothbay Harbor, Kennebunkport are all good choices. Would you be looking at hotels or house rentals?

I'm no help specifically except to say I LOVED the coast of Maine. But a long time ago when I was living in Vermont and did summer trips. But at that time we just drove around and found cool places to stay. Understand your situation is completelly different. Just chiming in to say it is a stunningly beautiful part of the world! suze

Boothbay Harbor is a great spot for a Maine coast family reunion. It’s right on the water, easy to walk around, and has lots of restaurants, shops, and boat activities for both adults and kids. You will also find rocky shorelines nearby, perfect for tidepool exploring at low tide. If you want a livelier place, Ogunquit is a good choice, with a sandy beach, tidepools near Perkins Cove, and plenty of places to eat. Camden and Rockport are quieter but very scenic and family-friendly. July gets busy, so it’s a good idea to book waterfront lodging early.

We took the kids to Ogunquit and it was great for a family trip. There are beaches, both sandy and rocky spots for tidepooling, and plenty of restaurants and shops right nearby.
