Boy, that will be hot and muggy. Better do your outdoor sightseeing in the morning.

Savannah is beautiful, but it is hot and humid in July, especially during the day, so plan to do outdoor activities early or later in the day when it's cooler.

For parking, you might want to try the Robinson Parking Garage on York Street. It's central and a good base for exploring the Historic District. As for sights, I'd say Forsyth Park, River Street, and maybe a ghost tour (if you are not going with kids, of course!) in the evening.
