Alaska is amazing by cruise and land. You might get more tailored recommendations if you share a bit more like whether you’re traveling with kids, how long you’re planning to stay, and what kind of experiences you're hoping for (nature, wildlife, cultural, etc.). That can make a big difference in choosing the best cruise and land tour combo!

While many cruise lines offer land tours, many people rent cars either prior to or after themselves. In terms selecting a cruise itinerary is the most important as we selected Princess northbound from Vancouver because access Glacier Bay. Ship disembarks in Whittier and you can get to Anchorage and DIY. Alaska is huge and cannot do it all. Just need to plan in advance with car rental and hotels. Take a guidebook from library to help you and it also depends on the amount of time you have for trip. When we did this cruise it was an add-on to a business trip for my husband and so we traveled a few days earlier to tour Vancouver. I needed to get back to my office so couldn't extend then but as we have family in Alaska we did a land tour on our own in 2021 around a family wedding in Homer, booking rental car and hotels in April for our August trip.
