Montreal 2025 - August - Lasso Montreal Music Fest - Hotels?
Hi,
Headed up to Montreal for 3 day weekend to attend the Music Festical and visit the city. I've researched hotels and it seems the following neighborhoods are good with Metro transport. Old Port, Mont Royal Plateau, Griffintown, St. Laurent, Place-des-arts. Any favourite hotels? Self (free?) parking a bonus as we hope to park car for 3 days and use public transport. Easy to find American hotel chains (IHG, Marriott, Hyatt, etc) but any others that are recommended? As always, thanks in advance.

That festival is at Jean Drapeau, right? I think you'll be fine anywhere as long as you're close to just about any subway stop, so tell us what you want for a neighborhood. I like Plateau, personally, but there aren't too many hotels. The ITHQ just reopened and it is right above the Sherbrooke metro stop. A friend stayed there and liked it fine. I'm guessing it's nothing too exciting but it would be a practical choice. Old Port is quite touristy but it's very pretty and there are many hotel options. Griffintown has some good restaurants but can be inconvenient. Place des arts has a lot of theaters/music venues but I wouldn't want to walk around and explore over there. Personally, I would choose between Plateau and Old Port.
