TAP Arline flight from Rome to Newark
Hi all, - I can save money by flying TAP from Rome to Newark in June 2025 - one way with a stop in Lisbon. The savings over United is such that I would consider it. However, the reviews are not very good at all. Any experience with this airline that you can share?

Wondering if poster ever tried TAP and what they thought?
I just booked my second trans-Atlantic on TAP in Business, this time from Rome to SFO, with stop in Lisbon. The price was substantially better than others, though it takes longer (not the usual polar route we get going SFO to Europe).
TAP is fine, but it is at the lower end of the business class flights I've had (on Lufthansa, United, Air France, KLM, not even considering Asian carriers). But seats have been lie-flat, and that is what I want most, even on the return flight. The "well" for your feat when you make the seat flat was quite narrow on last flight so I expect it next time.
Service was fine and staff were pleasant.

This was my first time flying TAP and I will say that the experience was ok. I generally fly United but the there was substantial savings by flying TAP. I flew Premium Economy not business class. I felt like the aisle was more narrow (could have been my imagination) service was fine but very minimal. Food was horrible. The plane home was very old and I was surprised by that. This was my first experience with a "budget" airline. I think though if the savings was as significant as it was with this round trip flight I would fly them again.

Thanks for the follow up mare.
I just checked my flight next Winter and according to Seatguru it is on the Airbus 330-900(Neo), in which biz is supposed to be ok. I'm at the stage where if I go overseas, I go business, and it's good enough for half the price of other carriers.
