Delta e-credit exp. date??

Hello - I have messaged the airline but thought I'd ask here: I have e-credits to use that expire June 19, 2025. So does this mean I must travel by then, or purchase a ticket by then? I don't want to let them go to waste, but would prefer to travel later in the year if possible. Anyhow, if anyone knows the answer, I'd be grateful! Thanks!

AFAIK Delta e-credits are good for 12 months from the date of original flight.

I've read on flyertalk where when someone won't be able to use an e-credit before it expires, they book a 'dummy' for months out (but before the expiration date) assuming there will be some sort of schedule change which would trigger a new e-credit good for another 12 months. But that does seem a bit roulette-ish. Many flights do have schedule changes but some don't and then you'd be stuck.

Thanks, Janis - I heard back from Delta and I do indeed have to travel by the expiration date.

>> good for 12 months from the date of original flight.

probably should be that the credit is:
good for 12 months from the date of purchase of original flight ticket

eta: actually, the ticket issue date, which might not be the purchase date. from delta coc:
A ticket is valid for one year from the date of issue, and all travel must be completed within the validity period.

the credit validity being linked to the ticket issue validity (i think)
