looking for esim for google pixel in mexico
Hi, we probably need a esim/prepaid when in Mexico city and southwards. It will only be used for a very occasional 3 minutes phone call (in and out) or sms to accomodation. No surfing.
Telcel-“Amigo” and AT&T Mexico seems to have the only reliable network?
Found some obscure names like BNESIM,Airhub, Maya Mobile. For around $7 its 30 days available, 1 gb data which will be sufficient. Its not made clear if this is about TALK and SMS or only internet.
Can anyone clearify or have tips? We will stay 2-3 months, its fine to change aevery 30 days

Stick with Telcel. They have the best coverage and stores are pretty ubiquitous. I'm unaware of those other carriers; they may use telcel's network, dunno. BTW, WhatsApp is the preferred messaging app in Mexico. My telcel plan includes it for free.

Just returned from a month in Mexico and bought a prepaid SIM for Telcel. 150 pesos for 3GB and unlimited calls and texts for one month. Easy to top up either online or at any OXXO store. Seeme like a good deal to me. I would not be comfortable installing software from a provider I had not heard of on my phone. Also, my understating is that Esims only provide data, not calls or texts so you would be limited to making calls via WhatsApp or similar.

"More than one MILLION marchers," bla bla bla.
Fact is there are more OXXOs then telcel stores.
Anyhow found out 200 mxn + 30 for the simcard gives you unlimited calls and sms + 3gb for 30 days

Glad you found what you needed and at a fair rate. BTW, when I say that telcel is more common than OXXO, I'm not just talking about their corporate stores & service centers. That's why I also mentioned 'agents & vendors'. Pretty much all the little mom & pop phone accessory stores, repair shops, etc, Elektra, Coppel all are Telcel outlets. Lol.
