Layover Length at LHR
I am close to purchasing flights for a March trip to Spain. The leg that is concerning me is when we are flying to Spain (Corpus Christi, TX to Barcelona). Flights are British Airways/American & we would be in Premium Economy. We would fly from Corpus Christi(CRP) to Dallas (DFW) with a 2.5 hour layover. Then DFW to London Heathrow (LHR) with a layover of 2 hours at 6:20am - to make our connecting flight to Barcelona at 8:20am. From what I've read, it can be hard to get through LHR quickly. We would be carrying on luggage (nothing checked) - so my understanding is that we would deplane, then likely have to get from Terminal 3 to 5 & go through security again before boarding. It looks like the trams or transportation takes about 20 minutes, if all is well. Is this all doable in 2 hours at LHR? (Another option that came up for a stop was Miami - which can be a terrible airport, too!)

Welcome to Fodors. All one booking - right??
OK - since you mention Terminal 3, I assume the DFW / LHR leg is on AA. Carry-on isn't really an issue one way or the other because any checked bags would be checked through and you wouldn't see then til BCN. (now, whether the bags would make the BCN flight is a different question
)
Two hours is a 'legal' connection and assuming you land on time should be fine. If you miss the connection, you are protected and they will put you on the next available flight to BCN. Me personally -- I'd much rather risk this than connecting through Miami!
Just don't dawdle -- T-5 has this thing called 'conformance'. Meaning you have to be through security (not in the queue but cleared) 35 minutes prior to the flight time. Miss that cut off and they won't let you through and you'll be waiting for the next flight .

I reckon that’s very tight. If you arrive into T3 you will have to go to T5, a 15 min trip but if you need to wait for the bus, I think its going to be very tight, especially if there is a long security queue.
Perhaps try for a longer layover, or just accept that you will be bumped to the next flight
