Getting from Puerto Vallarta airport to Sayulita

Hey everyone,

I’ll be going to Sayulita for the first time late next month, staying for a week and a half. Been to Puerto Vallarta several times — but not Sayulita. Anyway, I’m wondering what the going rate for a taxi or shuttle would be. I’m a solo traveler.

Repeating information from the Trip Advisor Nayarit forum re transportation to Sayulita. $121usd posted Aeromovil rate for a Federal taxi from the airport. Last year was 800 peso by crossing the highway for a regular yellow cab or 600 peso for an Uber. And from their own website $160usd with Superior Tours Vallarta private transportation.

Sayulita

Are you taking a lot of luggage? If not take the bus, it’s a great experience and costs MX55 pesos. Buses run every 15 minutes and all you do is head over the Highway on the Pedestrian Bridge and wait for a bus that says Sayulita, they are always white with dark green trim or take the same bridge and walk past the bus stop and take an Uber at max MX600 peso’s.

Thanks for the info. I’ll have a suitcase and a carry on so I’m not sure the bus would work. Are the Ubers cheaper if I walk across the bridge rather than have them pick me up at the terminal?

Uber

Yes everything is cheaper once you cross the pedestrian bridge. I have paid as little as MX400 with Uber. Returning from Sayulita via Uber to the Airport is more difficult so you might want get the phone number of your Uber driver and confirm your pickup.

You can't do that anyway Uber drivers are not allowed to pick up from airport property.

If you want to use any other transporation option other than a Federal Taxi (or tour buses) you will need to leave the airport on foot first. Those people pay extra for a license to be able to be at the airport (that's why it costs more than the others).

If you want to take a bus, call an Uber, try for a city taxi... any of these other options you need to exit on foot and get some certain distance away from the official airport property lines.
