Heading to Mexico City in a month. I've been there a number of times but have never toured Teotihuacan. I've seen a number of trips on Tripadvisor and Viator but wondering if my fellow Fodorites have any suggestions. I don't want to do a a tequila tour etc.

When we went we just got an Uber to Autobuses del Norte and got the bus there and back. All pretty simple as I recall. An Uber all the way would be expensive as would a guided tour which I don't think you really need. Agree with crellston. You can simply take a bus. If you really feel you need a guide, you can hire one at the site. This link is pretty thorough on how to get there by bus. With pictures. Although we drove from Queretaro.

Haven't posted for a long time! We've been doing our three months in Mexico each year and then staying in California most of the time. We bought a camper van so have been doing the National Parks. Looking forward to Europe in 2024. I'll check into the buses, that seems like a good way. Did you hire a guide once you got our there? Best to Carolyn.

No we didn’t hire a guide when we got there, we just wandered the site on our own with a guidebook. Pretty straightforward. The last guide we used was a guy who showed us around downtown LA.He was excellent! I think you may know him 😂.

I envy you the campervan life. Love that mode of transport. We spent six months travelling around New Zealand in one and loved it. The US national parks must be something else! We only made it to Joshua Tree but loved it and hope to come back and see a few more.
