Allianz Global Assistance Insurance

Has any one that purchased travel insurance thru Allianz actually been reimbursed for a claim? We both had annual polities and had to come home from a trip because of documented injury.
All paperwork filed in early August. They keep giving us the run around weekly. Guess it's time to seek legal help. Hoping to hear some good outcomes from you all.

Where did you buy your insurance, what country? Their claims processing may vary depending on the country in which the policy was issued and certainly your options for remedy will be different.

A bit late to respond, but we had no problem. There was a hospitalization in Bangkok, which we used our Allianz insurance for, and they covered the entire bill. In our case, we did not prepay and have to wait for reimbursement.

Would you say more about this, please? I should think that if you didn't prepay there would be nothing to reimburse, but maybe I'm reading it wrong. I've bought Allianz for an upcoming trip & have been wondering how it works.

The Allianz policy was purchased thru United for this trip.

Once the hospitalization occurred I called Allianz who worked with the business office of the institution to apply the policy.

Both Allianz and the business office were very helpful. The stay was covered in full. I did not have to prepay the hospital upfront and wait for reimbursement.

Hope that helps.

I read it as,

1. Did not prepay and 2. do have to wait for reimbursement, rather than

1. Did not prepay so 2. don't have to wait for reimbursement.

Got it. Good to hear, thanks.
