Viking grand european tour - budapest to amsterdam

Sailing from Budapest, any suggestions on things to do in Budapest day of arrival and on Day 2 after included tour? Also any suggestions on what to do in other ports Before/After included Tour?

Viking will give you a book about the ports that are included. In Budapest visit St. Matthias Cathedral and the Fishermen’s Bastion, all up on the Buda hill. On the Pest side of the river, visit the Central Market Hall.

1) You'll get more replies if you post this on the Europe forums.

2) What are your interests? Without knowing this the only advice anyone could give is a list of top 10 sights of Budapest which you could easily google by yourself.

3) Which are the other ports? And see 2)

We just took the Viking trip Passau to Budapest in April. We stayed three extra days in Budapest after the cruise. We revisited Fisherman's Bastion and St. Matthias cathedral on our own the day after the cruise ended. The time allotted for the tour with the cruise was not sufficient IMO. We booked a wine tasting in the cave below the Hilton hotel right behind St Matthias church. We spent several hours roaming about the market. Although quite touristy, it was fun.
