Sanibel.Marco Island,Captiva
My husband and I are going to Florida in June.We can't decide which we want to
go to out of Sanibel island, Marco Island and Captiva. Are the beaches comparable? Which has the clearest water? The softest sand? Also at which would I have the best chance of seeing some dolphins.
thank

didn't you post this same question earlier? or maybe yesterday? have you looked for answers there before reposting the same question? there have also been dozens of questions just like this in the past week or two. scroll down through the posts and click on any about these places. if you still have questions that aren't answered there, then repost -- or better yet, find this one and add a post saying" still looking" and it will come to the top of the list again. no one is answering because they are tired of answering this same question.

Hi Susanne:
I was one person who asked this question last week.
I got many responses. Scroll down and find other posts, or do a search.
Sanibel and Captiva sound like a fairly different vacation experience from Marco Island.
I've read that you will see dolphins at all 3 beaches. As for sand comparison, or clearest water, can't comment.

Never been to Marco Island. But, I know friends that return every year. I've been to Sanibel & Captiva. They both are beautiful .Sanibel is known for it's many seashells.(get up early, or others will find the unusual ones before you wake) The water is warm.Palm trees, quiet, beautiful. The current pulls around the island when the tides change. One time at sundown , we saw alot of pelicans floating on the water. Twenty+ dolphins came right up in the surf(some so close that 1/2 there bodies were sticking out of the water and they were eye-balling us!). They were flipping up out of the water, twirling , playing and feeding on some smaller fish. It was unreal. We'll never forget it.On the other hand, Captiva is more of a tropical setting. The water doesn't move as much with the current and isn't as stirred up as Sanibel. The water is more of a turquise color and crystal clear. We could see schools of tiny, small , and medium-size fish( about a foot long) swimming by our legs. It is more of a tropical paradise than Captiva. They both have soft sand. I'm sure you'll enjoy either one. Or be like us and visit both. Another nice beach is in Fort Myers. More of a party atmosphere. Barmaids wait on you at your beachchairs/blankets in front of the Launi Kai Hotel! Not too bad to take. Listening to a live band, sipping a Pina Colada and cooling off in the warm water. We loved it!
