Disneyland "refurbishing" rides

Any advice would be appreciated-
Space mountain, splash mountain and about 9 other rides appear to be down for refurbishing on March 1 when we were planning on being in the area-
Is it still worth going?

Splash Mountain
King Arthur Carrousel
Pinocchio's Daring Journey
Sleeping Beauty Castle
Snow White's Scary Adventures
Sailing Ship Columbia
Pirates of the Caribbean
Space Mountain

Wow that's quite a group. I'd hate to miss Pirates and Splash Mountain. Looks like alot of Fantasy Land is closed. Disneyland is pretty expensive to miss all of that. But you be the judge.

Well, the reason they are refurbishing rides then is because the park will be uncrowded. That's a plus, but only you can decide if you will miss going on the rides that are closed.

Oh, x posted at the same time I did and now that I know Pirates of the Caribbean is closed I'd skip it. That's my favorite ride.

You could get a 3 day park hopper, for the price of 2 days ($91 for adults) and go to both Disneyland & California Adventure Park? Disneyland is great, but it is a bummer to miss Space Mountain & Pirates. There are a lot of other rides though, (Dumbo, Peter Pan, TeaCups, Indiana Jones etc) and parades etc. I would still go! Have a great time!

Disney is enough to gag a less-than-picky buzzard on a good day

I say go for it.
The only big rides you would miss are Splash Mountain and Pirates. There is lots of other stuff to do.

Agree with the previous poster about hitting California Adventure if you have more than 1 day. Otherwise, stick withthe original.

Sidney, you can go to the Disneyland website, disneyland.com, and enter in the days you'll be at the park and it will tell you which rides will be closed for refurbishment, along with the park's hours that day, parade schedule, etc.

boy, that's alot to be shut down - if you're going with kids and they are old enough and tall enough to go on all the rides, i'd reconsider. anytime you go a few rides will be shut down but splash is a favorite for most peoplel, space mountain is GREAT and most people love pirates. that is three major ones.
the other ones are for small kids so depends on the age of your kids.
disney is expensive to miss so much.

Wow! 9 rides! And the most popular ones at that!
If your kids are old enough to go on those rides and they're closed, I don't think it's worth it. Me, I don't like Splash Mountain or those type of thrill rides, so I would go.
It depends.
Is it still $43/adults & 33/children?
You'd think that with the best rides shut down for refurbishing, Disneyland would lower the price by $5-$10...never mind me, just ranting.

Personally, my sister and I were planning to take our families to Disneyland on Feb. 22nd until we saw that long list of closures. Our kids are little, and Pirates is their favorite ride. (mine too) We decided to reschedule.

How do you find out what rides are closed for refubishing? Call WDW and ask? Or is there a web address?

I think the website address is:
http://www.disney.com or try http://www.disneyland.com.
If that doesn't work, just type "Disneyland" in the search engine and the address for the official web site url may come up.

All the Disney.com does is bring up their web page..nothing about rides closed for reburshing among all the other options. ANyone else have a web address for rides closed at WDW due to reburshing?

Come on sister,

Click around a bit, for Disneyland in Anaheim, I think "Disneyland Today" would be a good start. For Disney World Florida try searching for "refurbishment schedule".

The info is there just try for more than 5 seconds.

OK...disneyland.com...and 'show hours and reservations' will tell you (have to put in a date...but DisneyWORLD does not list this information on their web page. You have to make a toll call to find out exactly what is opened/closed.

I hope that the refurbishing schedule is looking better for April. We are going April 12. Any info on the rehab schedule for that time frame?

Dawn, I couldn't help myself here ... I do hope none of those Disney characters are on a "rehab" schedule! Are you talking about Disneyland? As posted above, all you have to do is go to disneyland.com and click on General Information and then "select more days". You don't need me to look up April 12 for you and post it, do you? ;-)
