Where to stay in Maui

My travel agent has given me a list of resorts in Maui and they all seem to be very nice. I need some suggestions on which one to choose. My choices are the Four Seasons, Renaissance, Embassy, Hyatt, and Kae Lani. Thanks for the info.

Four Seasons.
No further consideration necessary (unless you've got kids in tow).
ES is not even in the same category as the others, the Hyatt's older and worn.
Renaissance is OK but nothing like the FS.

You got a list with these hotels (as different as they are) from a travel agent, who then told you to pick one?
And he or she is being paid for providing travel consultation expertise?
Remarkably weak impersonation of someone performing a worthwhile service.

maxine - Yes, my travel agent gave me a brochure on all of the hotels I've mentioned and then some. I have narrowed it down to the list of hotels that I mentioned in regards to prices. Any ideas? Also, thanks Jed for your response.

Going in June and staying at the Hyatt on the request of my travel agent. 4seasons was a consideration, but expensive. However you pay to be catered to, which isn't bad thing, if that's what you are looking for. The other 2 weren't in contention.
Have fun!

When I went to Maui, my husband and I stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort. It was awesome, had a blast, the bar tenders remembered what we drank every day and night, it is a beautiful resort, but when we were there we walked thru the Hyatt, very ritzy if you want that!

You should check out the Grand Wailea - just awesome. Most travel agents never mention it for some reason.
