Is there anything to do in the Afternoon?!

Every guide book and web site I've read recommendeds doing activities (snorkeling, hiking Diamond Head, The Arizona Memorial, whale watching boat tours, etc.) in the morning. Apparently the crowds are lighter, the winds are gentler and/or the weather is better for just about everything in the AM. I don't mind getting up early but there must be some activites that are better during the afternoon. Trying to map out our time in Ohau and Maui. Any advice?

After you are done with all of those morning activities, what most people do is either a) take a nap, b) get loaded, or c) back to the room for a good bone session. (Or, mix and match)!

Yikes! Take a nap when there's so much to explore? Seriously, what are the best things to save for later in the day? (Other than watching the sunset, of course!)

My husband and I have taken catamaran rides off Waikiki morning, early afternoon and late afternoon. It was wonderful with more breezes in the afternoon and spectacular with sunsets on the later ride. We took it from outside Outrigger Reef and it was about 1 1/2 hours.

The beach or a rainforest hike are both good possibilities for the afternoon.

I hightly recommend a "performance sail" in the afternoon, when the trade winds are blowing. We did the America II out of Lahaina, a former Americas Cup contender - that baby can fly! Price, as I remember, was also relatively moderate.

The beach is great in the afternoon if you like boogie boarding or surfing.
