LAS VEGAS HOTEL DEALS

Where can you find the best deals for hotels in Las Vegas. I've never been, so I don't get any of the promotions in the mail. Is my best bet through the hotel websites or travel agents or through something like expedia?

Your best bet is the hotel website. Sign up in their guest book and you will be receiving offers instantly. Sometimes Expedia has a better rate than posted on the hotel website but not better than their specials. I have booked Treasure Island for the end of Feb for 45 bucks a nite.

Oh, if you need more Veags info on hotels and/or anything else, Vegaswatch.com is the best web site.

I recently got a rate at Orbitz.com for Paris which was significantly better than all other sites (1-800#, hotel website, 180096hotel, lvrs.com, etc).

I'm convinced that the ONLY way to consistently get the best rate is to check every pricing source and then recheck. NO consistency in my experience as to which source is best.

You've been given some good advice. As an alternative, check out a travel agent in your area for a package. I've done it on my own (booking air and hotel separately) and through a travel agent. Both times, I paid about the same. You should get some prices on packages, then check out all pricing sources (as someone else here mentioned) and compare. Have fun.

Landry is absolutely correct-there are many different sources that are great-(all aforementioned are good)-and some cheaper than others depending upon when you check!-I have recently discovered Travelworm.com-they had a rate on rooms at Venetian for 30.00 less per night than the hotel website.

You can also call the hotels direct thru their 800 number. Sometimes you can get good deals going directly through them. I would still double check different sources to make sure that you are getting the best deal.

Ginny:
I just booked a package thru National Airlines Vacations. I was pleased with the deal, only had to put a deposit down with rest due 30 days before departure. When I made the reservation I was given three days to make my decision as National held the reservation for me. I thought this was great. It gave me a bit more time to check around and I was not able to find a better deal for what I got. There is some concern about the finanacial stability of National Airlines. All the feedback I received was positive. The deposit is on my credit card, so if I run into any problems I can dispute the charge with them. I am looking forward to my trip and hope you have a great time too !

We recently stayed at the Venetian and received the best price thru the hotel, but they have another discount offer. If you pre-pay for your stay in advance, you cannot receive a refund or cancel, the price was better. We had a suite for $119 a night.
