Could use the name of a nice, but reasonably priced hotel near the airport for the beginning of March 1 night stay.Any suggestions?

I don't know of any names, beside Comfort Inn, Fairfield Inn, Hilton, but your best bet is to stay on University Ave (or St - I am drawing a blank). It's only 5 min from the airport and close to lots of restaurants, some parts near the airport aren't very nice/slums so be wary.

Hi. I was in the same predicament as you back in December, and I stayed at the Sheraton Tempe, about 3 miles from the airport. The hotel has a shuttle that picks you up at the airport, and it's only about a 5 minute drive.

The hotel was great--certainly more than we needed for our one night there. And we got an EXCELLENT price ($46!!!) by booking online through the Phoenix Convention and Visitors' Bureau website. Certainly the best bargain in years.

I have stayed once at the Radisson (very nice) and several times at the Hilton (which I have read is one of the best airport hotels in the country; I would believe it); both are very nice and have shuttle services to the airport.

Marriott, 1101 N. 44th
Doubletree Suites 320 N. 44th St.
(There are other hotels along 44th street as well -- Fairfield etc.)
Holiday Inn Select, 4300 E. Washington
