I'm planning to do a road trip in December 5th and I will be needing some giudance. So I will be starting the road trip in Frankfurt, Germany and I will be in Europe for 3 weeks. There will be 2 children, 3 teens and 3 adults and we will be hiring a car. I was just wondering what countires and attractions we should see but the thing is when we go it will be winter (Decemeber).
The Countires that we are thinking of going to is:
Germany ,Italy ,France ,Switzerland ,UK ,Belgium ,Netherlands

We are also wondering what kind of clothes we should be wearing since we want to pack quite light.

Certainly in Germany you will need warm stuff. As you get closer to the Atlantic you'll also need to handle the damp. As others will say, the days are short the countryside is miserable though Switzerlandd may offer you some skiing.

The tricky bit is planning and booking the period 23 Dec to 2 Jan. Edinburgh is the best place to see the new year in, but any major city will do its best.

In some contries the place closes up for some part of 23 to 26th of December.

Christmas markets are good all over, from Manchester to Turin.
