Myanmar Photos finally posted!

I finally got several (70+) of my favorite photos of Myanmar posted for viewing. You can access them either with this link below:

http://www.pattyroth.com/PATTY_ROTH_...s/MYANMAR.html

or at www.pattyroth.com and click on photos and you'll find them there (just in case this link doesn't work).

Would love to hear which ones really seem like Myanmar to you.

Beautiful pictures Patty! Do you have them uploaded with bigger resolution?

Thanks, Pook. I'm not quite sure why they show at this smaller size (although it's bigger with the slideshow). The same size and resolution (which is only a low-medium JPEG) on Facebook shows as a much larger size. Of course I have them saved as TIFF's and in very large files for my prints (just had 2 of 2 accepted in a local art show). Next week I should have them on pbase.com also.

Nice photos - it would be nice if they were bigger though. Even with the slideshow they are pretty small.

Patti, I am not at all surprised you have had some of your photos accepted at an art show. You are a wonderful photographer. As difficult as it is to choose one, my favorite is this one of the puppets (#60): http://www.pattyroth.com/PATTY_ROTH_...YANMAR.html#60 It caputured me immediately and shows how you are always scanning for great composition in everyday places. I can see it framed on a terracotta wall. I can't wait to see them on pbase so that we can get a full screen view. Please post again when you have them up on pbase.

My next trip, after my trip to Machu Picchu in a couple weeks will be Myanmar--my desire coming in no small part from the wonderful photos posted to this forum.

Thanks, Craig, smeagol, dgunbug, and BostonHarbor! And thanks, BH for letting me know which one is your favorite. I never cease to be surprised! I should eventually be able to post a few more--just been too busy here to look at all of them. Off to a Law and Ethics seminar in minutes now.

Looking forward to your Peru photo, BH!

I'm back at home now and have a good internet connection so I can view your photos. Lovely photos, Patty! Thanks so much for sharing. Of course, I was especially interested in your photos of the Mandalay area, as we didn't get there last trip, so we'll be going in Nov/Dec.

Thanks, Kathie! I'll probably eventually post more, but we did enjoy the Mandalay area. Ava was also very old timey and had a great feel.
Glad you guys made it home okay!

Just received an old-timey Burmese cookbook in the mail from new Burmese friends who help out with Goldenrock Travel. Think it will be fun to try out some of the recipes.

I loved your photos. I was in Myanmar last year and they brought the memories flooding back! You are a very talented photographer. From memory you use a 5D MkII?

Seeing your photos reinforces our plans for Myanmar, thanks for sharing! We only made a day trip to the tourist town of Tichlik(sp) a few years back but your photos of the children with the sunscreen make up on is the memory I will always have of Burma. Need to visit the main areas of the country sometime soon.

Aloha!

Thanks, silverwool! You are very gracious! You're right--I use a 5D MKII. I have some more photos to add--just need to make the time to do it.
And glad to hear you are traveling to Myanmar hawaiiiantraveler! Just visiting with our Goldenrock friends and going over the photos took us right back to the people, the culture and the beauty there!

Re photos, I had one of U Bein Bridge enlarged on canvas and my husband has it in his office. Also have it entered in a local art show and two Myanmar photos (same one plus one of a tribal mother holding a child) entered in the San Diego Fair Competition. Kind of fun to have photo momentos hanging on our walls!

For Pook and Craig and anyone else interested, I finally posted my photos on pbase in a larger format. Sorry it took so long. Been Busy.

Also, just had three of them printed on canvas, mounted to hang and they turned out great. (Printing done by Laurent Martres--for those of you who know him and his fabulous photography).

Wow much better Patty and thanks for sharing.

I'm getting ready for the Masai Mara this August - what do you think will work best the EF 70-200L F2.8 II with a 2x or 1.4x extender?
