Where in Cuba that you have never been before?

Where are places in Cuba that you would like to visit but have never been to before? For fun. I’ll go first.

I have almost been to everywhere in Cuba that I wanted to visit.
Possibly Remedios and Caibarién.
Possibly a run through Playas Giron and Larga for a couple of nights each.
Possibly to Pinar Del Rio and the western tip of Cuba. I have driven through Pinar Del Rio years ago.
The Cayos are beautiful but do not interest me much.
A few times I was going to make the Baracoa trip through Guantanamo from Santiago but it never happened.
There is not much left that I care to discover. I have been fortunate to have visited a lot of Cuba.

Aa far as cities go, I've never spent meaningful time in Camaguey. Only a day trip. Manzanillo and Bayamo are still on my to do list. And if I ever make it to Baracoa, I'll stop in Guantanamo on the way.

Years ago, I had always thought that a trip to Havana and Pinar del Rio / Vinales would be happening for me sometime soon, but alas, life got in the way. I'd still like to do that at some point before I croak it. I'm both surprised and disappointed that it hasn't happened yet. I've been to Trinidad twice - that's the closet I've come. But finally completing that tourist triangle would certainly help to fulfill my Cuba bucket list.

Simon, perhaps we can help each other at some point in the future. As expressed numerous times before, it would be my pleasure to help show you around the streets and the best of what Camaguey city has to offer whenever we can sync our watches together. Hopefully later you can do the same for both Yudith and me in Havana and elsewhere at the western end of the island. Terry

Simon, I bet you could spend some meaningful time in Camaguëy if you go visit Terry there. It’s a nice drive from Manzanillo to around Pilon on the south coast. I found Manzanillo to be a bit of a strange place.

I would love to be in Camaguey for New Years Eve. I'll know if I can swing it by November.

Good stuff, Simon. I won't even be able to firm things up for myself and Yudith either for New Year's Eve in Camaguey city until likely October / November. Do you have a preference for accommodations, Simon? Boutique hotel downtown? I'm thinking the Camino de Hierro - you can research that place online - perfect place to hangout downstairs to eat and drink beer while people watching the throngs milling past in the plaza. Or a room in a casa particular very close to our casa? Again, my Cuban-American buddy's casa by the name of Laguna Azul located within our barrio would be ideal for you to be able to crawl home from our casa near by at some point after midnight on New Year's Eve with a full belly of pork and congris. jaja No internet presence for that place online though - he doesn't need it as his place is so incredible everything is done through word of mouth. The problem with that place is securing a room reservation well in advance of the end of the year though. Terry

I forgot to answer!! Lol. I have always wanted to do that treacherous road trip from Holguin to Baracoa. It can take hours because of the bad road conditions and it is suggested to do it in a jerp like vehicle. Anybody who has done this trip please post about it. That would be an all-time adventure. My friend Larry and I did some inquiring about it but never got around to finally doing it and now with the way things are going we’ll just have to hope for the best!

We have been to a few different areas in Cuba. I am not really itching to get to anywhere new in particular.

Maybe a Manzanillo and Bayamo combo.
Or Camaguey and Santa Lucia combo.
