Trouble sorting out bus/train (Italy)
As usual Italian public transport is creating some stress while trying to plan our autumn trip to Italy.
Our proposed itinerary looks like this:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/tKFeVVgGWUb7ypvK9
I've already deleted Canazei due to major issues getting there via public transport in October, but we've also run into issues getting to Alleghe and may have to give up on it as well. But before we do, I'd like to ask if perhaps we're missing something.
Best as we can tell prior to October 4, Alleghe can be reached from Merano and Castelrotto via four buses to Arabba, then a fifth bus to Alleghe. After October 4, there appear to be no buses at all. Are we missing something?
It also looks like we can get to Alleghe from Belluno in 1:27 via bus, but we can't tell if this is possible in October. Dolomiti online doesn't show schedules past June. Is there somewhere we can find this information? We feel that we don't have all the tools we need to work out the itinerary.
Any help appreciated.

https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Belluno...Bus-via-Agordo seems to show a route in early April which should be replicated in Ocotober

I don't know those routes. With that said.
In general buses and trains between smaller centres are for locals. Kids to go to the bigger school in the next town. People to go to work or shopping.
There can be a drop off in summer schedules since the schools are closed but in autumn you'll likely see something fairly similar to what you see now. Maybe the departure times will change a few minutes
Obviously nothing is guaranteed

Thanks for the responses. We've already looked at Rome to Rio, which helps with general info, but not info for specific dates, and the dates are important in this case.
neckervd - thank you, we'd already seen the Dolomiti bus schedules. Problem is, we have to travel on two specific days (Oct 20 going to Alleghe and Oct 25 leaving Alleghe). The 25th is a Sunday, and we don't see any Sunday schedules on the Dolomiti website for that time frame.
Also, is it safe to assume that school days are always M-F? We made this assumption in a valley out of Domodossola last year, and found out otherwise (how does a visitor know these things, such as school holidays?). Another issue is making the assumption this year's schedule will be the same as the previous year. It appears the new schedule doesn't come out until Sept?
Can you help us determine if there are buses (1 & 3) that go from Belluno to Alleghe via Agordo and return every day? If we can find a bus not subject to school days/holidays/Sundays we'd feel comfortable staying in Alleghe and booking accommodation.
PS - we can't make heads or tails out of that third schedule.

If you have alreaady seen the Dolomitibus shedules, you have seen to that there are no buses to and from Alleghe on Sundays and that there are no school holidays between summer holidays and Christmas holidays.
You always saw that fv means Monday to Friday, s means Saturday only and that no sign means Monday to Saturday.
As October is low season, there will be no need to book one of the few hotels which will remain open long ahead

As I told you many times, it would really make sense to visit the Isonzo Valley/Soca Valley ibn detail instade of waste your time in the Southern Dolomites.
https://www.soca-valley.com/en/attra...tolmin-gorges/
It makes really sense to go by train from Jessnice to Lake Bled - Isonzo Bridge - Gorizia (or vie versa) with long (seberal days) side trips from Isonzo Bridge to Tolmin - Kobarid/Caporetto and Bovec.
But Bozen - Belluno is feasible too. May be like this:
Bozen dp 8.07 - line 920 - Vigo di Fassa ar 9.20:
Vigo di Fassa dp 9.57 . line B 101 - Canazei ar 10.20

neckervd - you win! We've decided to add time to Slovenia and take time from Italy. Would appreciate you comments here:
