June train advice, Zurich to Gstaad

Hello Fodorites,

Switzerland experts: In late June we will be traveling to Gstaad from the Zurich airport (Flughafen), where we'll be staying overnight.
Using ssb.ch in English, I am a bit confused by the best route to take with the easiest train changes, and which station is the best one to get off (there seem to be two in Gstaad). Going first class. Hate train changes with lots of luggage (our trip is a month long, including Spain), but there seems few choices.

Any advice most welcome.

Gstaad only has one train station - Gstaad, which might appear as Gstaad, Hbf or bahnhof. The other stations you see listed are bus stations (indicated by bus icon vs train icon).

Are you actually staying in Gstaad, or a nearby village, such as Sannan?

Looks like the shortest train journey is 3:09 with a change at the Zurich Hauptbahnhof and another change at Spiez.

Or a slightly longer journey of 3:27 with a change at Bern and another at Zweisimmen.

If I had to choose between the two and all other things being equal (price, low number of people on each train), I'd go through Bern and Zweisimmen as I find those stations smaller and easy to navigate.

Scroll to the bottom of this link to see the Gstaad station on a map:

Thanks Melnq8. Those little train/bus icons looked alike!

I saw the Zurich Hauptbanhof stop when I looked a few days ago but today that route didn't come up. I wonder why?

Do you think one journey is better than the other scenery-wise? Otherwise I'd take your Bern suggestion.

Zürich airport dp 7.46 - Interlaken Ost ar 10.59 change at same platform to Golden Pass train just in front, dp 11.07 - Gstaad ar 12.59.
Make sense if you are Swiss Travel Pass, resp Day Pass holders.
Change at Spiez if the first train is late.

Sorry, there is a missprint in my previous post: it should be Zurich airport dp 8.46.

"Normal" solution
Zurich airport dp 6.09, 7.09, 8.09, 9.09........change at Berne (rather long way)
Bern dp .............7.39, 8.39, 9.39, 10.39.....change at Zweisimmen (easy)
Zweisimmen dp 9.04, 10.04, 11.04, 12.04........
Gstaad ar..........9.35, 10.35, 11.35, 12.35.......
