Travel in march end to Bodo and Lofoten island
Greetings,
I am travelling to Bodo in March end.
I want to go to Lofoten island from Bodo, questions are:
1. I have driven the car in Switzerland/Scotland and Island in summer with no issue, will it be difficult for me to drive a car in Winter? I mean, how the roads will be? Icy or normal?
2. I have see the ferry services to go to Lofoten island, but their timings are very odd, like 1 and 4 in the morning and if you miss it or its not comfortable to you then wait till 4-5 in the evening. Is there another way I can move to Lofoten island quickly from Bodo.
3. How can I book the ferry in advance, from App if I enter my local number its giving error. Any help here.
Thanks for the help.
Regards

Greetings,
I visited the Lofoten island with a friend of mine in February about 10 years ago. We flew in from Bodo to Svolvaer on Lofoten. I think the airline was Wideroe. It is a 30 minutes flight and will now probably costs around 100 US $. We rented a car from Avis on Svolvaer airport. We booked the car early. It is a very small airport and they only have a few cars.
The roads on Lofoten are narrow, curvy and very slow. In early February it was snowing heavily with wet snow but not icy conditions. In late March it is more likely to be rain than snow and the roads normal. Just take it slow and you will be fine!
