Best place to buy liquor for St. John

I will be flying in to St. Thomas, then headed to St. John. Any thoughts on the least expensive place to buy wine, beer and liquor? My options are at the airport, near the ferry terminal or within walking distance of the Westin. Thanks!

Dolphin Market near Westin

Support will probably be expensive.
Can’t think of anything near the ferry.
Near the Westin is the Dolphin Market.
To get there (if you are stay on the water side), go out passed the guard gate and turn left on the road. It’s probably within a 5 minute walk then it is on your left. (If you are on the opposite side of Westin further from the water - then you turn right on the road).

Which ferry terminal are you using, the one in Charlotte Amalie or the one in Red hook? Either way, you'll find plenty of places to purchase liquor near both ferry dock . FYI - you can purchase liquor in grocery stores and dedicated Liquor Shops. Prices will be essentially the same no matter where you shop.

There is a market across from the Red Hook ferry (can't remember the name) that has a decent wine and liquor selection. The Starfish market on St. John has a good selection and isn't that far from the Westin, but I don't think I'd like to walk along that road with no sidewalk. There is also a small Dolphin market across the street from the Westin, but I have not been there. The larger Dolphin market in town had decent prices.

Thanks for the replies - that is helpful. We will be taking a ferry out of Red Hook.

flew into st thomas last summer & grabbed our liquor at cost u less by the port before hopping the ferry – way cheaper than anything at the airport. westin area shops were small & prices were high tbh. there’s also starfish market on st john if u need to restock, but we found a couple good bottles at kmart too.

If you are an adult traveler, prices are usually lowest at duty free when you land in St. Thomas. Small shops near the ferry and resorts cost more due to transport. Many visitors also ask their hotel concierge where locals shop to avoid tourist pricing.

I was going to ask about Duty Free, as often that works. Also most places have no rules against bringing in a bottle or two of your own in checked luggage.
