A week in France. Need Advice, thank you
Hi. It's been suggested multiple times that I start my own thread (as I was jumping in on some old threads!)
So here I go:
My husband and I are traveling soon (like next week)
Our plans:
Day 1 - arrive in Paris evening in Paris
Day 2 - morning in Paris and then move on to Amboise (with a stop at a Chateau (or more?) on the way). Leave Paris around 2 ish
Day 3- Loire Valley area - stay in Amboise
Day 4 - Loire Valley and drive towards Mont St Michel so we can explore in early evening / evening (i've heard it's less packed then). Sleep near MSM.
Day 5 - move on to Normandy area, perhaps stop at either Sainte-Mère-Église, Omaha Beach /and /or Port En Bessin on the way to destination - Arromanches Les Bains
Day 6 - Spend the day in the area, visit Bayeux and? I know these dates are around the anniversary of DDay so i'm trying to factor in some road closures or lease ease moving around.
Day 7 - drive to Etratat (and I understand this may be too ambitious, but it looks amazing) - spend the day in that area, drive to a hotel (yet to be booked) near Versailles
Day 8 - Visit Versailles and then head to airport for late afternoon flight (Need to arrive to airport by 3 pm)
NOW, since I wrote the above, i think Day 7 may look different. I may go instead to Honfleur / Deauville - i've read (from you fine people), about a beatiful scenic drive from Cabourg, Chateau Gaillard viewpoint, les andelys, giverny, the town of Beuvron en Auge - I KNOW i can't do all, just want to ask experts where they think i should skip and what i should include.
Same goes to Amboise / Loire valley / Normandy area.
Thoughts?
Few other notes:

Few other notes:
- We are not going to be jet lagged, our current time zone is practically the same
- I am American born and raised, but do not live there any more. My husband is british born, raised elswhere - and a churchill fan. If that helps suggest where to go in Normandy area.
- I understand meals take longer in France but i will enjoy much more sitting over a coffee in the morning in a lovely setting than spending 2 hours at dinner. We just aren't that big into food, or alcohol.

Thank you for starting a new thread; I hope you get some good advice!
For those who hadn’t seen the OP’s previous posts and the comments already offered, start with post # 7 on this old thread:
Six days in northwest France - itinerary suggestions?
In addition to the comments I already gave you:
When I visited Mont Saint-Michel, it was still connected to the mainland only by a causeway that was closed to vehicular traffic at night, but at least at that time, it was magical at night, after day-trippers had left. I was glad to tour the monastery very early in the day, before it became thronged with people. I’m not sure why, but that monastery, more than almost any other I’ve visited, made me think deeply about what it would mean for a young man to commit to not just to being a monk, but to spending the rest of one’s life in the confines of a single, relatively small monastic complex.
I thoroughly enjoyed Honfleur (where I spent most of a day), the Abbaye de Jumieges, the Chateau Gallard in Les Andelys (between 1 and 1.5 hours in each of the latter two), and Monet’s garden and other sites in Giverny (several hours).
I’m not a great fan of Versailles – too opulent for me! I’d rather spend that morning in Giverny, and I think the timing would work better. But to state the obvious – it’s your trip, not mine.
Sounds like you’ll see some wonderful things no matter what you choose!

we just finished watching THe Longest Day, to be prepared! shelemm & bilboburgler wanted you to know. Although St Mère L'église is a bit out of the way...
kja i agree about versailles - the last nights booking (meant to be versailles and then airport the next day) is the only one not yet booked. I want to be able to have the flexibility to decide that either a) we skip versailles b) we stay closer to normandy region and wake up earlier to drive towards versailles c) we stay close to versailles as i wrote (in walking distance)
