First day in missouri

Arriving in Missouri, I was eager to explore the natural beauty and rich history of the Ozarks. My first stop was Dogwood Canyon, where I enjoyed a scenic electric cart tour through stunning landscapes, spotting wildlife along the way. The highlight of the day was the Sunset Ceremony at Top of the Rock, where I raised a glass as bagpipes played and a Civil War cannon fired at sunset. The next day, I headed to Silver Dollar City, an amusement park that felt like stepping back into an 1880s mining town. I indulged in a hearty breakfast at Billy Gail’s before spending the day enjoying thrilling rides and live performances. The park's unique blend of entertainment and craftsmanship made it a memorable experience. On my third day, I ventured to Branson, known for its live entertainment. I caught a morning show featuring local talent, then explored the shops and restaurants along the famous Branson Strip. In the evening, I enjoyed a dinner cruise on Table Rock Lake, taking in the beautiful sunset over the water.I dedicated my fourth day to outdoor adventures at Table Rock State Park. Hiking along scenic trails, I marveled at the views of the lake and surrounding hills. Later, I rented a kayak to paddle on the calm waters, enjoying the tranquility of nature.Traveling to St. Louis, my fifth day was filled with cultural experiences. I visited the iconic Gateway Arch and took a tram ride to the top for breathtaking views of the city. The afternoon was spent at the St. Louis Art Museum, where I admired an impressive collection of artworks.Day six brought me to Independence, where I explored sites related to President Harry S. Truman. The Harry S. Truman Library & Museum provided fascinating insights into his life and presidency. I also visited the National Frontier Trails Museum, learning about America’s westward expansion. On my final day, I returned to Kansas City for one last adventure. The Arabia Steamboat Museum was a highlight, showcasing artifacts from a steamboat that sank in 1856. My trip concluded with a delicious meal at a local barbecue joint, savoring Missouri's culinary delights before heading home. This week-long journey through Missouri offered a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation, leaving me with unforgettable memories and a desire to return.

Hi eliteofficehq6456

Thanks for this report. I’ve only visited St. Louis in Missouri (and even St. Louis was only 2 short two-day trips) and would like to go back one day to discover more about the state first-hand. I agree that going to the top of the arch is a special experience and I thought the views from the top were great; I think though that they should call the “tram” that goes up to the top a capsule. I really liked the Soulard neighbourhood in St. Louis.

Best wishes

Daniel

I love Missouri and lived there for several years. My favorite part of the state is the Arcadia Valley- south of St Louis. My ex grew up there and knew all the rivers and swimming holes and back roads. There is a lot of history there too. Battle of Pilot Knob fought during the civil war, Ulysses S Grant received his commission in Ironton. One of the battles was fought on Shephards Mountain in Ironton. My MIL lived at the bottom of the hill and frequently found bullets from the civil war.

Glad poster enjoyed trip- I lived in Kanas City.
