Planning 14 days to Seoul, Japan and Singapore
I am planning a trip, I want to visit Seoul, Japan and Singapore in 14 days. I need travel ideas for accommodations and best places to visit. I am on a budget of $3,000 for this time excluding my flight. I'm looking for help maximizing my money and adventures. Is this feasible for this many days. Oh thinking around September/October timeframe.
Thanks for your ideas

I prefer Busan to Seoul for a quick trip to Korea. In Busan, the mountains plunge all the way into the sea, and you have a wider variety of experiences and scenery right there. Korea is a mountainous peninsula, and you can really feel that in Busan.

You need to come up with travel ideas. I get the impression that you haven't really done much planning at all. Asking for travel ideas for Japan, really?
Your average daily budget of $200 could work in Japan. Lodging would be your biggest expense.
Actually, you might be better off in a forum that better fits your budget.

How many nights do you actually have for this trip? You are going to lose a day going and another day returning from Asia and another day moving between each country. That leaves you about 9 days to actually see anything. I would start by cutting out at least one destination.

$3000/14 days = $214 per day to cover accommodation, food, transport and sightseeing, entrance fees etc.. Just about possible but you will need to be frugal. Costs will increase substantially as Weill time wasted if you visit more than one country. Singapore will likely be the most expensive country and Seoul & Japan the most economical. Personally , I would forget Singapore. IMO sterile and not particularly interesting esp if on a budget.
Between SK and Japan, Japan would probably be my first choice. Easy to get around but you would need to factor in the cost of a JR Rail pass which can be incredible value if doing a lot of moving around. I you did want to cover both countries, I would consider an open jaw flight into Tokyo and out of Seoul or vice versa and getting the ferry between Busan and Fukuoto which could save a lot of time and money.

~Recent price hikes have made the national JR Pass pretty much useless. Regional passes could still offer some savings as their price hikes were less drastic.
Drastic price increase announced for the Japan Rail Pass
Domestic Japan airfares can be competitive with the shinkansen but the cheapest way to travel Japan is probably by bus, known as highway bus. Some offer sleeper seats.
Ferry travel could beat flying when it comes to last-minute booking. But advance purchase airfare could offer cheaper and faster travel.

I followed a couple of the links to purchase the Seoul flight and the fares allowed 1 carry-on and 1 checked bag.

I too would probably pick one country for 2 weeks but could see combining Japan and Korea. Would skip Singapore for the reasons Crellston mentioned and the fact it's further apart than Japan and Korea. I last used the Japan rail pass in November 2023. Would not use it again at these prices even with the strong dollar.

We’re planning a not dissimilar trip. 3 nights in Seoul then flying to Kagoshima and 12 further nights on Kyushu Island. Singapore is an accidental extra stop as the flight deal we got has a 10 hour daytime layover in Singapore - I def wouldn’t try to cover 3 countries properly in just 2 weeks and of course I’m already regretting everything we’ll miss!
