Suica Card, app?

Very last minute, but we booked tickets for a week in Tokyo and Kawagoe this month. My DH, daughter who just turned 40, and I will be going. As it's been 4 years since my last time in Japan, I have an actual Suica card in my passport. I've been told that the online version is the way to go now. Does any one know if we can transfer any balance from the card to the online account? And do you use your phone just like the card, eg. tap it as you go through the turnstile or at the register? And where is the official Suica site? I got a couple of odd links.

Still using my physical card which I love since my name is on it, old fuddy dud lol. Most that I see use their phones, tap it face down so very easy, fast and convenient. If you can’t do it prior to leaving you can probably ask how to convert over at the attendant station.

Don't know. The benefit of a card is that it does not need electricity, but I did forget to get my 500-yen deposit back.
