Can anyone recommend Priorat wineries to visit?
My parents are wine lovers. Want to surprise them with a visit to the Priorat (I live in Spain they are visiting around harvest time).
I found this where you can choose the wineries to visit: https://www.barcelonainsideandout.co...rat-wine-tour/
Spoke to the tour operator. I know that Alvaro Palacios is on the itinerary.
But I can also choose 1-3 more wineries I want to visit in advance. I'm thinking Clos Mogador.
Does anyone have a personal recommendation? We get to try the wines. So anywhere that has great views/ great wines/ great atmosphere.
Many thanks!

I'm not in the swing with this area any more, but one thing that amazed me was tasting these wines with and without chorizo. I'm used to cheese stimulating the taste buds, but do choose a tasting that offers a little smoked meat (if your parents can eat it, given its known migraine stimulant properties).

I was a bit underwhelmed with Clos Mogador for the prices they are charging. But if it is included in the price of the tour, go for it.
Clos Figueres does a great lunch but there is no view.
Surely if you are getting a tour, they can offer some recommendations. Four wineries in one day is a bit insane, I would stick with two, maybe three if one includes lunch. Those wines are pretty high in alcohol.

Familia Nin Ortiz makes some beautiful wines as does Mas Martinet. If there is a bodega that can take you into the vineyards, that definitely makes the visit worthwhile. For a great view and a modern winery that's a great tourist destination, I would recommend Mas Perinet. I haven't had the wine in years as the winery has changed hands a few times, but the owners have put a lot of money into the building and vineyards. And for historical significance, Scala Dei is definitely worth a visit. Have fun!

Palacios isn't open for visits. Scala Dei you can drop in to. Others such as Marco Abella, Mas Doix, and Sangenis i Vaque will do reservations. You can also look to a private local guide such as www.priorat.guide

I agree that Cellers Scala Dei is worth the visit if only for its history.
We visited Clos Mogador (yes, pricey) in Gratallops.
and the family-run Capafons'Ossó in Falset (lovely visit and tasting), which I wouldn't miss. https://capafons-osso.cat/en/
The winemaker of Mas d'en Gil met us and took us via 4x4 to their estate, deep in the countryside where we spent some 4 hours with her and her husband.
Buil & Giné is quite easy to access, as it´s right off the highway. We dropped in for a tasting.
