Xmas and New Years Eve dining in Cordoba and Seville

We are spending the festive season in Andalucia and ask for any sugestions for tapas in Cordoba for Christmas Eve and the same in Seville for New Years Eve - we don't want a slap-up dinner, just tapas?
Thanks

If you don't want a "slap-up" dinner on NYE in Seville, and only tapas, that's going to be a difficult chore.
Tapas bars will be closed, undoubtedly, and the few restaurants that will be open in Seville on NYE will have those mandatory gala menus that you don't want.

I suggest that you check el Mercado de la Lonja del Barranco, a giant food court, at the edge of the Guadalquivir to see if they will be open on NYE at least for the morning and afternoon of it, then grab some take away there or have tapas until they close.

Or better still, go to the Mercado de Triana across the bridge before they close early and purchase items, including bubbly and 12 grapes to celebrate in your apartment or hotel room.

Or head to the Plaza Duque de Victoria to the huge basement supermarket of El Corte Inglés, where you can find everything under the sun for take away, or go to the top floor to their Gourmet Experience for tapas or take away. The Gourmet Experience has a rooftop terrace with lovely city views. El Corte Inglés will be open until 8 pm on Dec. 31, says their web page.

Ditto to Córdoba on Christmas Eve, as both events are times for restaurant employees to be at home celebrating with their families.
Some Córdoba restaurants, mostly in hotels for the convenience of their guests, will have those special Christmas Eve menus, though.
So here, I suggest that you check to see if the Mercado Victoria, another one of those food halls now popular in Spanish cities, in the park will be open for part of that day and pick up items there. I like the salmorejo they sell at La Salmoreteca and you´ll find Iberian ham in this food hall as well.

Or as in Sevilla you could go to the large supermarket housed downstairs in El Corte Inglés on the Ronda de Tears to purchase take away. According to the web page they´ll be open until 8 pm on Christmas Eve.

Here is a long thread about Córdoba dining if you plan to be there before or after Christmas Eve
CORDOBA..hotels, eating, to and from?

Córdoba's Mercado Victoria, the large gourmet food hall in the park, tells me that they will be open Christmas Eve until 8 pm. There you can have tapas galore....salmorejo, gazpacho, tortillas, patatas asadas, cheeses, wines, berenjenas con miel, Iberian ham, champagne, oysters, canapés, etc.
