Seoul with children - Parks and gardens

Hi all,

I will be in Seoul in Autumn. I have a 1 year old and 5 year old and will stay in an apartment or Airbnb. I am looking for suggestions for which area will be suitable for family, including access to some green space and/or a playground. When I have travelled with children before I find this is an extremely useful thing for kids to run around and burn up some energy. I have read about Sungin area having a good park, would this be one such area? Is Myeongdong going to lack green spaces?

I have actually been to Seoul before, but I did not have a family and paid no attention to these things. I stayed in Hapjeong and loved the city and now want to bring my family. I feel like it will be a great city for young kids if we find the right dong.

Many thanks

Steve

I stayed in Seoul for over 5 years, and I've been to a lot of parks with friends who have kids. I would recommend Yeouido Hangang Park as a great place to go for families. It has a lot to offer for kids of all ages, including playgrounds, sports facilities, and walking trails. You can also take a bike ride along the Han River, which is a lot of fun for kids and adults alike. After the bike ride, the adults can relax on the grass while the kids play at the park. There are other parks in Seoul along the Han River that are good for families, such as Banpo Hangang Park.

Hello! Seoul is a great city for families, and it's wonderful to hear that you want to bring your young kids to experience it. In terms of finding suitable areas to stay, Sungin area is a good choice as it has a nice park called Seoul Children's Grand Park. Another area to consider is Yeouido, which is known for its large, scenic park along the Han River. It has plenty of space for picnics and playtime. Myeongdong is a bustling commercial area that may not offer as much green space, but there are some smaller parks in the surrounding area, such as Namsan Park, that you could visit. Otherwise, Hongdae, Gangnam, and Jamsil are also good options with plenty of amenities for families. Lastly, don't hesitate to ask your Airbnb host for recommendations or guidance - they may have great suggestions based on their own experiences in the city.

Agreed! Seoul is a great city for kids. I just found these statistics about the most visited tourist attractions in Seoul https://www.statista.com/statistics/...r-of-visitors/
I see Lotte World is on the top list so I thought you could bring your kids there. It's an indoor and outdoor amusement park and entertainment complex that has lots of activities and attractions suitable for kids and families.
