Suggestions....Final itinerary for Cote d'Azur with family.

My wife and I and two daughters (19, 20) are travelling to the Cote d'Azur early in June. Thanks to many of you (Stu Dudley, and Gooster, among others!) months ago giving me great ideas and suggestions to make this trip great. We have a final itinerary set, with a few days that are still open for spur of the moment activities.

Day 1 arrive Marseilles late afternoon....take shuttle bus to Aix-en-Provence, stay at Hotel Cezanne for one night.
Day 2 ....explore Aix in the morning, but pick up rental car and drive to Saint Tropez in the afternoon.
Day 2-5....3 nights in St. Tropez......Monday visit some of the vineyards west of St. Tropez, perhaps Gassin/Grimaud/Bormes-les-Mimosas. Tues morning explore the market, and possibly spend afternoon at the beach.....Jardin Trapezina is associated with our hotel.
Day 5, 6.....2 nights outside Tourettes-sur-Loup.....Leave St. Tropez, drive thru Cannes, possibly for lunch, stop in Antibes for snack?, Arrive at lodging and dinner in Tourettes. Next morning visit St. Paul de Vence, Vence, and drive Stu Dudley's suggested "loop " in the area around Tourettes.
Day 7-11....4 nights in Nice. Leave Tourettes, drive to Eze, possibly La Turbie, then back toward Nice...drop off rental car at airport late afternoon and take tram to our Air bnb just outside Old Town. Day 8, train to Menton (Monaco on way back?), Day 9 Villefranche and afternoon on boat ride, with Day 10 open for anything else we wish to do. We leave on Day 11 from Nice.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for towns or must-do stops along the way? Should we be more scheduled than this, or does this leave time for us to explore enough on our own? I'd be very interested in hearing if anyone has any guidance, as I always find the information here very helpful!

Thanks!

I question your “ stop in Antibes for a snack”! Remove a day from St. Tropez or Cannes and give it to Antibes.

Are you going to drive all along the coast from St Tropez through Cannes to Antibes? That is a beautiful drive, particularly the Corniche between St Raphael and Cannes. It is a slow drive, leave St Tropez early. The bit between St Tropez and Cannes could easily be 3 hours. In Cannes you can park below the Palais des Festival. It's a short walk to the old town Le Suquet. In Antibes there's a large car park next to the old town at Port Vauban. You are there in June, so before the school holidays, but don't underestimate the driving times. If you are leaving Antibes near rush hour, getting to Tourrettes from there is not fun. It has taken me an hour just to get from Antibes to Villeneuve-Loubet in the past. Do you have at least 2 people driving so you can switch? You can always decide on the day, and skip either Cannes or Antibes.

Thank you for that suggestion, Tulips. Indeed, on the map it doesn't look that far, but I must be underestimating road conditions and traffic. I would like to experience the road between St. Raphael and Cannes, as many have raved about the scenery, so perhaps we will just plan on an early departure from Saint Tropez as you said, and lunch in Cannes, then head directly to Tourettes from there. I guess we could always take the train or bus to Antibes from Nice later in the trip if we have some extra time. Thanks!

That is indeed a very beautiful road. Continuing along the Croissette once you get to Cannes is lovely too. And then the drive past Juan les Pins, over the Cap 'd Antibes - stop at Plage de la Garoupe for the view towards Nice.
I would see how you get on and change the plan if necessary. You are driving out of St Tropez in the morning, so maybe it's not so bad. The short distance between St Maxime and St Tropez can take more than an hour if you are driving towards St Tropez.

I missed the previous itinerary queries, so apologies if you’ve already covered my comments/ suggestions not in this string.

I thought most boat trips are from Nice port, so not sure why you need to go to Villefranche. If there’s a particular reason, then why not drive there from Tourette’s and do the trip then?

If you are in Nice on a Friday, take the train to Ventimiglia and enjoy the market. Have lunch in the town. Alternatively you could go to the market in San Remo on Tuesday/Saturday.

Take the bus to Menton. Eat lunch in the old town port area. You will get some lovely views from the bus and can stop in Monaco or other places on your way back. Other option would be bus one way, train the other.
