I often take the train to Dusseldorf to have good food and buy tea things.
Takumi is now an international chain of ramen restaurants, but the Dusseldorf restaurant at Immermanstraße is the mothership
Maruyasu: don't order sushi (there are better places for that) but the udon is good
Anmo, for tea and art (this is where I go for good tea and tea things)
EatTokyo, good, general Japanese restaurant with the usual offerings
All these are in of near Immermanstraße: an alternative would be to wander the neighbourhood a bit (also interesting restaurants in the side streets) and just pick one that is popular with Japanese.
My personal favorite is Fuyu, also on Immerman and the snack counter at Tains Asian Supermarket.
All this is just out the door from the main train station.
