Pyrenees - Huesca
Looking for day trip and 1-2 night overnight suggestions for Pyrenees. We're planning to get a house in Tramacastilla de Tena for approx 1 week and plan day trips. We'd also like to do an overnight backpack trip to a Refugio. We have a rugged 9 year old, but want to go easy with approx 6 miles/day with focus on staying somewhere in the mountains that offers shelter and bedding.
We'll be in Spain a total of 2 weeks starting/ending in Madrid, so open to scenic routes thru possible wine country and seeing Camino de Santiago.
Other places of interest: Cirque de Gavarnie and paragliding.
We will have a car. Thanks in advance!

It's a 3 hour drive to Gavarnie. If interested in hiking in the high mountains, the Pic du Midi d'Ossau with its cable car and little train on top will get you into the high mountains more quickly, and it is only a 40 minute drive from your stay.

Thank you both - I'm finding it very difficult to research this area and find good guidebooks. Is it advisable we stay on the Spain side or hike in France? We are also now downgrading our exertion to maybe 2 miles a day (we are happy to supplement distance with trams/etc).
Thank you all in advance!!
