Joshua Tree, cable lift up to Mt. Jacinto, hike one of the palm canyon oasis, visit Hadley Date Garden. Downtown Palm Springs for eating and shopping. I cannot recommend any restaurants as it has been too long since we were there.

The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens is in Palm Desert. I was visiting friends this time last year & here's my take on it:

Went last year. For Palm Dessert, Pacifica Seafood is good, and for more casual but actually good food and drinks, Tommy Bahama's which has a large outdoor dining space.
In Palm Springs, if you like authentic French, Le Vallauris, which has an outstanding outdoor space and the food is devine!

He’s mentioned in the new Readers Digest article about 13 suggested routes in California: https://www.rd.com/article/californi...RDtQnC0ea6YkbI

Palm Springs is the best. Joshua Tree is easy to do. Here are some ideas: https://travelfam.wordpress.com/cate...-springs-2019/

We love the Palm Springs area, we went last year (before the lockdown happened). We loved: Playing tennis at Indian Wells, had a great meal at Arnold Palmers in La Quinta, PS Air Museum, PS Art Museum, PS Aerial Tramway, Joshua Tree NP, went to several taprooms, there's a lot to see and do, have fun!
